New Digital Procurement Platform Strengthens City’s Purchasing Efforts
The City will continue to post bidding opportunities on the Alberta Purchasing Connection (APC) website, aligning with previous practice, but a link will now direct potential bidders back to the new City of Medicine Hat eProcurement webpage.
“What began as an urgent solution to continue business electronically and remotely in the face of COVID-19, led to an effective permanent change in our purchasing process,” said Phil Downie, Supply Chain Manager from the City of Medicine Hat. “The online tool from bids&tenders™ expedites our procurement process in a way that creates value for our organization, so we can better reallocate administrative time and resources to where they’re needed most,” adds Downie.
Vendors are invited to create a free Bidding System Vendor account by visiting the Bid Opportunities website at https://medicinehat.bidsandtenders.ca and clicking on the "Create Account" button. When creating an account, the system will direct vendors to select a commodity code(s) for goods, services, or construction. The system will then notify the vendor by email of any upcoming bid opportunities matching their commodity code selection.
For help creating an account, viewing bid opportunities or submitting bids, contact support@bidsandtenders.ca or visit the vendor support portal by clicking the Vendor User Guide button.
