Parks staff initiate in-person parks survey

Medicine Hat – Beginning Friday, August 26, representatives of the Parks and Recreation department will be conducting in-person surveys at several parks and natural areas, collecting feedback from residents and visitors about what we consider important aspects of our parks, as well as overall satisfaction with current city provisions.

“We want to capture results from people who are actively using our open spaces to help us understand how best to move forward with our parks,” said Kara Brake, Special Projects Coordinator and acting Business & Innovation Manager with the City of Medicine Hat. “This survey stems from the work that was previously done for the Parks & Recreation Master Plan and action items which are identified within that Plan.”

Staff will be present in Kin Coulee, Southridge Community Park, the natural areas and trails in Ranchlands, as well as pocket parks in neighbourhoods across the city and will be dressed in City of Medicine Hat attire.

“Everyone who participates in the survey will receive one complimentary day pass for a single admission to the Big Marble Go Centre, a City of Medicine Hat trail map, and more,” Brake added.

The survey will conclude on Monday, September 5.
