Parkview Dr NE/Altawana Ave NE temporarily closed at First Avenue NE on June 1

Medicine Hat – On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, Parkview Drive NE/Altawana Ave NE will be closed to through traffic at First Street NE for an important flood protection training session. This closure is in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Third Ave NE, at the intersection of Parkview Drive, will temporarily be converted to a two-way roadway to allow for access into and out of Riverside. Heavy truck traffic will be directed through the closure by flag personnel.

Safety and emergency preparedness is important to the City of Medicine Hat. Training will focus on the installation of a specialized flood protection system in the area known as a “flood wall.” This is standard annual procedural training and is not related to any perceived or impending threat.

Motorists are reminded to follow all detour signage and posted speed limits.
