Prince Street to close as rehabilitation project begins Monday

Medicine Hat - Beginning Monday, August 29, Prince Street SE, between Maple Avenue SE and North Railway Street SE, will be closed as crews begin construction on the Prince Street rehabilitation project.

The rehab project includes the removal of the asphalt surface, replacement of the storm system, upgrading the road structure, installing new concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk and final paving. The construction area includes the intersection of Prince Street SE and North Railway Street SE. A bypass road will be constructed to allow traffic to flow on North Railway Street SE.

During construction, the area will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Construction is expected to last until early October.

Motorists are reminded to follow all detour signs and posted speed limits.

The City of Medicine Hat thanks residents for their patience and understanding during the construction of this rehabilitation project which ensures safe and reliable infrastructure for years to come.
