River Road SE closed at Ash Avenue on May 11 for flood protection training

Medicine Hat – The River Road access to the Downtown YMCA, and Police Station will be closed Thursday, May 11, 2023. City crews will be completing an important flood protection training session. Alternate access to this area is available from 2nd Street SE.

Safety and emergency preparedness is important to the City of Medicine Hat. Training will focus on the installation of a specialized flood protection system in the area known as a “flood wall.”

This is standard annual procedural training and is not related to any perceived or impending threat.

Motorists are reminded to follow all detour signage and posted speed limits.
