Road closures for Remembrance Day ceremony and procession
Medicine Hat – On Remembrance Day, the Medicine Hat community honours those who gave their lives to serve their country through a number of ceremonial activities on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023.
The Remembrance Day Ceremony begins at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre at 9:15 a.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
The ceremony is followed by a parade procession at 10:30 a.m. from the Esplanade to Veteran’s Memorial Park and service at the cenotaph at 11 a.m.
First Street SE from Fourth Avenue SE to North Railway Street SE, including Finlay Bridge, will be closed starting at 8:30 a.m. until the ceremony concludes.
Motorists are reminded to obey all posted signs and to take extra caution while driving due to an increase in pedestrian traffic.
