Select Parks staff shift to earlier work hours during extreme heat

Medicine Hat – For the health and safety of City staff, select Parks department workers and contractors will be starting work earlier in the morning during days with extreme heat in the forecast.

These workers may be starting as early as 5 a.m. to avoid prolonged heat exposure during peak hours of the day. This may include staff who use equipment such as mowers and other machinery that may be heard by residents while in use.

This measure is in place for the foreseeable future when forecasted temperatures are above 30 degrees Celsius.

The City of Medicine Hat thanks residents for their understanding while this is in effect.
