Temporary Changes to Council Meetings Due to COVID-19

To support social distancing and mass gathering recommendations from Alberta Health, the City of Medicine Hat is implementing measures at City Council meetings to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. At this time there are no presumptive or confirmed cases of COVID -19 in Medicine Hat, these measures are a precautionary approach.

For the timing being the following will be in place for City Council meetings effective March 16, 2020:


Social distancing will be encouraged (1 metre distance between people)
All visitors/media must enter Chambers through the main floor entrance
Attendance (including Council members, staff, media and community) will be limited to 50 people
Hand sanitizing stations will be in place for attendees

The next City Council meeting is today, March 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Please note, there is currently no new information to share regarding COVID-19 at this meeting. Residents can visit the City’s COVID-19 page at www.medicinehat.ca for City-related information.
