The City announces public screening of ‘Alarm in Alberta’ documentary
Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat is excited to announce a public screening of ‘Alarm in Alberta’, a documentary based on the Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency services team, on Tuesday, May 16 at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre.
The eight-part documentary series, produced by German multi-media company, Fabiola, features an inside look at the day-to-day operations of Medicine Hat Fire fighters. The first episode of the series premiered on March 28 on DMAX (Discovery Network in Germany) and has since gained widespread attention and acclaim.
The series was filmed in various locations throughout Medicine Hat between September 2022 and February 2023. One of the main contributors to the series is German expatriate, Rene Grigat, who has been a part of Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency Services for approximately nine years.
“We are thrilled that the first episode of Alberta Alert is now airing in Germany; it’s getting a great response from our country,” said Oliver Fuchs, co-founder and producer, Fabiola. “The series highlights the everyday life of Grigat and the other local firefighters and their contribution to the city.”
The second episode of the series, which features the infamous Royal fire, has been selected for the public screening at the Esplanade. The Royal fire, which occurred in Medicine Hat in 2022, was a major event that the fire and emergency services team had to respond to. The documentary provides a behind-the-scenes look at the team’s response to this crisis and more!
