The City reopens Northwest Riverside Trail

Medicine Hat – The City announced the reopening of the Northwest Riverside Trail, a development made possible through a $100K contribution from the Trans Canada Trail program. This funding supported remediation efforts to revive the trail, ensuring it is safe and accessible for everyone.

“We are very grateful the support from Trans Canada Trail, an organization that values collaboration and connectedness,” said Mayor Linnsie Clark. “This contribution will help us to restore one of our city’s trails reinforcing our commitment to fostering active, healthy lifestyles and community connection in our beautiful city.

Trans Canada Trail, renowned for being the world's longest network of recreational trails, exemplifies a dedication to showcasing the diverse landscapes and cultures of Canada. The trail network, surpassing 28,000 km and spanning every province and territory, represents a national unity and a common path of shared experiences.

“Trans Canada Trail is proud to have supported the reopening of the Northwest Riverside Trail in Medicine Hat; this project is a testament to the power of collaboration,” said Eleanor McMahon, President & CEO of Trans Canada Trail. “The Northwest Riverside Trail's revival is an invitation for residents and visitors to embrace the beauty of our shared outdoor spaces and enjoy the experiences that the Trans Canada Trail represents.”

With the Northwest Riverside Trail now open, residents and visitors alike are invited to partake in the various recreational activities it offers.
