Transit running full service, prepared for possible adjustments
Medicine Hat – Given the rapid spread of COVID-19 and the omicron variant, Medicine Hat Transit is monitoring service levels daily to ensure business continuity. Medicine Hat Transit riders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the City website and to follow the City on social media for potential for short-notice service adjustments. This effort will ensure riders who rely on the transit service are able to get to where they’re going with minimal disruption.
At this time, transit operations will continue as scheduled. Should changes be required, as they have been in many other Alberta communities, riders will be notified through a variety of ways.
Real-time information can be found on DoubleMap. Any future services changes will be communicated on the City website and on social media. Residents are also encouraged to subscribe to City news to receive information as it is shared.
“Our priority is keeping our staff and passengers safe,” said Gordon Dykstra, Superintendent of Operations with Medicine Hat Transit. “If our drivers are sick, or are showing any symptoms, we ask they stay home until they’ve fully recovered. We are continuing to monitor our operations and are prepared to adjust service accordingly if necessary.”
The City of Medicine Hat would like to remind residents that masks are mandatory upon boarding and to continue to practice physical distancing while onboard a transit bus.
