Urban well maintenance in Terrace Park on Tuesday

Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat will conduct maintenance on an operating gas well in northeast Crescent Heights on Tuesday, Feb. 15.

Routine inspection of well 102/03-08-013-05W4 in Terrace Park uncovered the need to repair a malfunctioning valve on the wellhead. Equipment will enter the park from Terrace Way NE. Parking, roadway and trail restrictions may occur for short duration in order for the equipment to access and maneuver around the work area.

Residents and motorists in the area will see a coil tubing unit and wireline unit (similar to the equipment in Saamis Rotary Park recently) in Terrace Park starting Tuesday and may notice a temporary increase in noise. This work is expected to take one day unless unforeseen circumstances arise.

The work presents no anticipated danger to residents aside from proximity to heavy equipment. The public is asked to observe a safe distance from the worksite and obey all signage, barriers and personnel.
