Medicine Hat (June 28, 2021) – Residents and visitors now have one more convenient method of travel as WestJet resumes service to and from the Medicine Hat Regional Airport.

Those who work elsewhere, in the oil and gas industry for example, are more inclined to make Medicine Hat home when easy, quick and convenient transportation options are available. WestJet Airlines provides that important link to Calgary, with connections to many other Canadian cities, the U.S. and International destinations. We couldn’t be more thrilled they are once again serving our city.”
On Thursday, Feb. 18, WestJet announced the temporary suspension of operations to St. John's, N.L., London, Ont., and Lloydminster and Medicine Hat, Alta., as of Mar. 19, as demand continued to falter from COVID-19. As of last week, the airline announced it is further restoring Alberta's domestic and interprovincial connectivity with the restart of 10 routes to and from destinations across British Columbia, the Yukon, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Nova Scotia from Calgary, Edmonton and Medicine Hat.
“We continue to work towards the restoration of our pre-COVID domestic network to ensure that when our guests are ready to travel, we are there for them," said John Weatherill, WestJet Chief Commercial Officer. "WestJet remains committed to building back stronger for the betterment of all Canadians, and as we look ahead to reconnecting friends, family and loved ones, the safe restart of travel is essential to Canada's economic recovery."
The first inbound flight arrived at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jun. 27. Today’s outbound flight was full and took off at 7:30 a.m.
