Work on Carry Drive SE advances to the final stage
Medicine Hat – Starting Sept. 8, 2022, the intersection at Ross Glen Drive SE and Carry Drive SE will be closed as the Carry Drive SE rehabilitation project advances to its final stage. The intersection will remain closed until the top layer of paving is completed for remaining sections of Carry Drive project. Paving should conclude by Sept. 23, weather permitting, which is when Carry Drive SE will reopen to traffic.
During this phase, traffic will detour on Southview Drive SE, Cameron Road SE and Ross Glen Way SE to navigate around the active construction area. Motorists are reminded to obey all posted signs and detours and watch for further updates at www.medicinehat.ca/carrydrive.

This work represents the final stage of the four-stage road rehabilitation on a long span of Carry Drive SE from the top of Scholten Hill to the Cameron Road SE intersection. Work began in July to:
- remove and replace the pavement surface;
- upgrade the curve and intersections at Southview Drive SE and Ross Glen Drive SE;
- remove and replace damaged concrete surfaces, where necessary; and
- add and replace damaged storm water infrastructure.
The project concludes with line painting and landscape restoration later in the fall which will not require road closures.
Transportation infrastructure renewal projects such as Carry Drive SE are an important part of the City’s asset management strategy. The City of Medicine Hat thanks residents for their patience and understanding during construction.
