MHTapp is your single source of transit information and trip planning tools for Medicine Hat Transit. Plan your regular transit trip and see step-by-step directions for the most efficient way to reach your destination. Set up alerts for arrival times and access any transit-related information at your fingertips.

Enjoy faster, more direct trips with the most efficient pick-up and drop-off locations and bus route for your intended destination.

Enter your trip planning information, and MHTapp will give you several trip options, allowing you to choose time of day, and bus arrival alerts based on your needs. As usual, fare is paid using your preferred method of payment when boarding the bus.

How to ride with MHTapp

Scan the QR code above to download the app for your device.


Create an account (optional)

An account is not necessary to plan your trip, but it provides additional features such as saving your favourite trips, and setting customized app alerts. To create an account:

  1. Open the app and tap Register
  2. Enter your phone number (mobile is preferred, but landline will work)
  3. Enter the 5-digit verification code sent via SMS
  4. Complete your profile by adding your first and last names, a profile photo (optional) and email address (optional)


Plan your trip

  1. Enter your starting point and destination within the zone
  2. Provide your rider information
  3. Get a notification so you know when to expect your ride and where to wait
  4. Use the app to watch your bus, or receive a text to know when your ride will arrive in real time
  5. Meet your bus!


Tips (optional)

Allowing the following permissions when prompted may improve your experience.

  • Location access: Set to “always” to receive accurate trip information
  • Notifications: Enable to make sure you don’t miss important trip updates

Please note: Our How to Ride video from the previous MHTnow app will be re-branded, but the original video still provides a great opportunity to learn the core functions of the new MHTapp.
