East Parking Lot paving begins at Big Marble Go Centre

Medicine Hat - Construction in the east parking lot at the Big Marble Go Centre begins on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026.

The project includes removing existing turf and irrigation systems from landscaped middle islands and then repaving the lot one side at a time to minimize disruption and maintain vehicle access to the adjacent pickleball courts. Work is expected to wrap up by Oct. 2.

Visitors will be able to park in the East lot on parts that are not in active construction, except for brief full closures for one or two days when work reaches certain stages such as entry areas. In these cases, pedestrian access to the Big Marble Go Centre and pickleball courts from other lots on site will remain available.

Construction signage, barricades and traffic control measures will be in place to help direct visitors safely through the area. Users are encouraged to allow extra time and follow all posted signage.

Access to Medicine Hat Transit service in the area will not be affected.

The City thanks residents and facility users for their patience and cooperation while these improvements are completed.
