Momentum Kick-Off Grant application window open

The City of Medicine Hat has created a new, one-time grant funding opportunity to support projects that help advance strategic objectives in the Community Well-Being Plan. The Momentum Kick-Off Grant window is open for applications until June 5, 2026 at 3 p.m.

The City of Medicine Hat is invested in supporting innovative, organization-led projects that advance the goals of Momentum: Medicine Hat’s Community Well-Being Plan, and create measurable improvements in the health, social, cultural, and economic well-being of Medicine Hat residents.

The Momentum Kick-Off Grant provides one-time funding (up to $10,000) to support these types of community initiatives.

“We’re excited to provide this one-time opportunity to spark locally driven ideas and help community organizations put them into action,” said Shantel Ottenbreit, Community Resource Worker with the City of Medicine Hat. “By backing these projects, the City is helping foster positive change and strengthen the overall quality of life for Hatters.”

Projects must align with and address one or more of the actions outlined in the Community Well-Being Plan, found in the Momentum Plan Summary. Projects must be based in Medicine Hat and directly impact Medicine Hat residents.

Applicants are encouraged to fully read the Momentum Kick-Off Grant guidelines and criteria to ensure their project and application meet the program objectives and eligibility criteria.
