The discount is 75% reduced rate on monthly transit passes, to an annual maximum of $630 subsidy per person/year.
To set up, each member of your application needs to bring their photo ID and this letter to either City Hall - 580 1 Street SE (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm) or the Medicine Hat Transit Office, 460 Spencer Street SE (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, closed 12:00 pm -1:00 pm).
If you already have a Transit card, you will need to have the card updated to the Fair Entry program to access the reduced rate. Any balance on your old card will be available until it expires.
Once you have a Fair Entry Transit card, you will be able to purchase your monthly pass at the discounted rate at any one of 4 locations listed below, or reload online for a period of two years.
If loaded online, an applicant will be able to use a Credit Card or Bank Card to purchase their monthly pass. When you tap your card to get on the bus, the display will show as a regular pass.

Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre - 401 1 Street SE
- Tuesday to Saturday: 12 to 5 p.m.
Big Marble Go Centre - 2000 Division Ave N
- Monday to Thursday: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Friday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Saturday: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday: 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
