Emergency Planning

Disasters can occur at any time. Knowing the risks can help you prepare yourself and your family.

Flood preparation

Flooding is the most prominent disaster in the city. We work with the Government of Alberta to ensure residents are informed about any potential flooding that could occur.

Public notification

During a disaster, Alberta Emergency Alert will provide safety instructions and updates. The city will also share important information on social media.

Prepare your family

Be prepared to take care of yourself and your family for a minimum of 72 hours if a disaster happens.

Understand the risks in your area, create a household emergency plan and build an emergency kit. Get Prepared is a Government of Canada resource to help.
