    Medicine Hat – The Medicine Hat Regional Airport continues to provide services for travelers while implementing protective measures to limit the possible transmission of COVID-19. WestJet has announced a revised flight schedule between Medicine Hat and Calgary, effective November 6.

  • City Announces Accelerated Financially Fit Initiative

    Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat announced today the Accelerated Financially Fit Initiative, fast tracking the initial effort launched by City Council in 2016. The original initiative committed to finding $23M in annual net cost reduction in response to the loss of the City’s commodity-based revenues.

  • City Announces Co-op as Naming Partner for Regional Event Centre

    Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat is pleased to announce South Country Co-op as the new title sponsor of the regional event centre. South Country Co-op has a long history of investing in Medicine Hat and southern Alberta by supporting numerous organizations, events and causes, including the Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation, HALO, the Medicine Hat and District Foodbank and many more.

  • Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework Signed by City of Medicine Hat, Town of Redcliff, Cypress County

    Medicine Hat – The Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework (ICF) document has been prepared following provincial legislation introduced in 2017. The ICF is intended to foster increased levels of intermunicipal collaboration by establishing a pattern for intermunicipal communication and connection, as well as encouraging and supporting delivery of services.

  • City Introduces Spectator Capacity Limits at Arenas

    Medicine Hat – Parks & Recreation staff continue to review facilities throughout the City as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. To date, the Cenovus Arena, the Canalta Centre, the Hockey Hounds Recreation Centre and the Kinplex I have reopened and are accepting bookings from organized user groups.

  • Re-opening the Veiner Centre: Better Together

    Medicine Hat - The Veiner Centre will reopen its doors on Monday, November 9, 2020, reconnecting its members through limited activities while keeping health and safety a priority. The Centre will operate under reduced hours, from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

  • LED Lighting Installation Complete at Kinplex Arena

    Medicine Hat – The installation of 136 new LED lighting high and low bay fixtures, as well as LED strip fixtures has been completed inside the Kinplex Arena. The green energy initiative replaces current fixtures for both ice surfaces, increasing the lighting levels in the arena significantly.

  • Electric Zambonis Lead to Cost Savings, Reduce Impact on Environment

    Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat has completed the purchase and commissioning of two electric ice resurfacers as part of an on-going effort to find operational cost savings and efficiencies within the organization. A grant program available through the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC) provided $100,000 towards the total investment.
