Medicine Hat – City Council will meet as scheduled on Monday, June 15 at 6:30 p. m. with adjustments in place to ensure alignment with current Alberta Health restrictions related to COVID-19.
Medicine Hat – In light of Premier Kenney’s announcement today regarding the acceleration of some components of Phase 2 of the Provincial COVID-19 Relaunch Strategy, the City is receiving multiple inquiries about the impact to various facilities owned and operated by the City of Medicine Hat. Officials at the City became aware of the Province’s revised relaunch plan via the premier’s address today, and are now examining the new guidelines.
Medicine Hat – Starting Monday, June 15, 2020, the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre will reopen its galleries, museum and archives, inviting patrons to Come Together… Carefully. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday, Noon – 5 p. m.

Medicine Hat – In support of a safe and responsible relaunch, the City of Medicine Hat has reviewed Public Health guidelines on the use of outdoor areas and is taking measures to open select outdoor recreation amenities. Effective Friday, May 29, skate parks, skate spots, fitness parks, and outdoor play structures in both City parks and school grounds will be open to the public.
Medicine Hat – Medicine Hat Fire Services is reminding business owners to ensure they maintain access to all fire exits during the COVID 19 pandemic. Many businesses are implementing strategies to comply with public health guidelines and to encourage physical distancing requirements within their premises.
Medicine Hat – To support residents impacted by COVID-19, the City of Medicine Hat instituted a Utility Deferral Program from March 16, 2020 to June 18, 2020. This program allows customers to defer 90 days of utility charges without penalty or risk of disconnection.
Medicine Hat – With recent direction from the Provincial Government that all summer festivals and events are cancelled until the end of summer due to COVID-19, the City of Medicine Hat is providing further clarity on local impacts pertaining to outdoor recreation spaces. The province has provided guidelines on outdoor activities including maintaining two metres of physical distance from others and restricting gatherings of more than 15 people.
Medicine Hat – After careful deliberation, City Council announced a COVID-19 assistance package to support residents and businesses in coping with and recovering from the economic impacts of the pandemic. The package was introduced at the May 4 meeting of City Council and includes support for both residents and business owners.
Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine is currently reviewing the province of Alberta’s COVID-19 relaunch strategy and is committed to making appropriate and responsible decisions to best support and protect the residents of Medicine Hat. The strategy is outlined on the Government of Alberta website.
