Saratoga Park, recognized as a historic area in 2020, was home to a vibrant Métis community whose stories reflect resilience, family, and a deep connection to the land. Today, its legacy lives on through the oral histories and memories shared by descendants and former residents.

Drawing from more than 900 artifacts in the Esplanade’s collection, Hidebound examines the history, uses, and evolving legacy of leather, from ancient civilizations to modern alternatives.

Through photographs, personal collections, and community memories, Pride in the Archives honours the people and moments that have defined 2SLGBTQIA+ history in Medicine Hat.

The City of Medicine Hat welcomes the public to attend its annual National Indigenous Peoples Day event at City Hall on Friday, June 19.
