Animal Pound Services
The City of Medicine Hat continues to operate animal pound services (APS) on a permanent basis after assuming operations in June 2025 from the previous service provider.
The City will maintain partnership opportunities with groups like the Humane Society (SPCA), vet clinic(s), and other animal services (grooming, daycare, cremation, etc.), for the provision of services.
As the operation evolves, volunteer opportunities, as well as public education and engagement regarding animal pound services, will be incorporated. Staff are also working to implement online licensing.
Hours of operation
- Monday: Closed (except for meet-and-greet or adoption appointments)
- Tuesday to Sunday: 12 to 4 p.m.
