1. With the City of Medicine Hat, you will have three options:
   • Medicine Hat (City) - Accounts Rec
   • Medicine Hat (City) - Taxation
   • Medicine Hat Alta, City of – Util
2. Choose the bill you need to pay, Accounts Receivable, Taxation or Utilities.
3. Enter your account details:
   • Email Address
   • Account Holder Name
   • Account Number
     • Accounts Receivable account numbers start with an 8 and are 6 digits.
     • Taxation roll numbers start with a 1 and are 6 digits.
     • Utility account numbers start with a 5 and are 13 digits.
   • Payment Amount
4. Choose payment option and complete transaction.

Your account will be credited once the processing is complete in generally three to five business days.

Visit Tax Online Payments portal.

Enter your Tax Roll number and Access Code. This can be found on your 2025 Annual Property Tax Notice, or by contacting Customer Care.

Credit card processing would have to be passed back to all ratepayers through the annual tax rate. This would not be fair and equitable to all ratepayers, particularly ones that do not choose this method of payment.

Customers that choose to pay with credit card on the Tax Online Payment portal will pay an Administration Fee of 2.4% to cover the cost of processing.

PaySimply assesses and covers their cost of processing payments. The City does not receive any portion of this fee they charge.

Tax Online Portal: The City of Medicine Hat receives the Administration Fee portion to cover the cost of processing.

Payments made through PaySimply are approved instantly. The processing can take 3 – 15 business days.

Payments made through the Tax Online Payments Portal are approved instantly. The payment will display as pending in your portal immediately after and will be updated the next business day.

notifications to be reminded when your tax payments are due.
