1. With the City of Medicine Hat, you will have two options:
   • Medicine Hat (City) - Accounts Rec
   • Medicine Hat Alta, City of – Util
   • Note: PaySimply includes options to pay Property Taxes and Business Licenses. However, we recommend using the City of Medicine Hat’s online portals for these payments as they are applied to your account immediately and have lower or no administrative fees.
2. Choose the bill you need to pay, Accounts Receivable or Utilities.
3. Enter your account details:
   • Email Address
   • Account Holder Name
   • Account Number
     • Accounts Receivable account numbers start with an 8 and are 6 digits.
     • Utility account numbers start with a 5 and are 13 digits.
   • Payment Amount
4. Choose payment option and complete transaction.

Your account will be credited once the processing is complete in generally three to 15 business days.

Visit Tax Online Payments portal.

Enter your Tax Roll number and Access Code that are displayed on your Assessment Notice, Property Tax Notice, and monthly statement. You will not be able to use the access codes listed on any Notices prior to May 2025.

Credit card processing would have to be passed back to all ratepayers through the annual tax rate. This would not be fair and equitable to all ratepayers, particularly ones that do not choose this method of payment.

Customers that choose to pay with credit card on the Tax Online Payment portal will pay an Administration Fee of 2.4% to cover the cost of processing.

PaySimply assesses and covers their cost of processing payments. The City does not receive any portion of this fee they charge.

Tax Online Portal: The City of Medicine Hat receives the Administration Fee portion to cover the cost of processing.

Payments made through PaySimply are approved instantly by your credit card provider. However, the City of Medicine Hat does not receive the payment immediately. Please allow 3-15 business days for the payment to be received and applied to your account.

Tax Online Payments Portal

Payments made through the Tax Online Payments Portal are approved instantly by your credit card provider. These payments are displayed on your account immediately and are fully processed and posted the next business day.

Yes. On the app you can save your credit card to make convenient repeat payments, and setup
notifications to be reminded when your tax payments are due.
