    Medicine Hat – Effective Friday, December 4, 2020, Bylaw #4637 – Mandatory Face Coverings will come into force, introducing the mandatory use of face coverings in all public places and public vehicles. This bylaw does not apply to privately owned vehicles and private dwellings.

  • Fire Services Assists Businesses with Occupancy Loads Following New Health Measures

    Medicine Hat – Occupant load placards are posted in restaurants and assembly establishments (theatres, recreation centers, etc. ). With enhanced public health measures coming into effect on Friday, November 27, businesses are to determine the allowance by viewing the posted load and reducing it to 25%.

  • City Suspends Group Activities, Esplanade Theatre to Close

    Medicine Hat – In accordance with enhanced public health measures outlined by the Government of Alberta, the City of Medicine Hat will be suspending all group activities currently taking place at the Big Marble Go Centre, Kinplex Arena, Hockey Hounds Recreation Centre and Co-op Place, effective Friday, November 27, 2020. The Big Marble Go Centre will remain open to the public and will offer the following public programs:.

  • Veiner Centre to Close Following Announcement of Enhanced Public Health Measures

    Medicine Hat – In following guidance by the Province of Alberta and additional enhanced public health measures, the Veiner Centre will close to the public effective Thursday, November 26 at 3:00 pm. All group activities have been discontinued effective immediately.

    Medicine Hat – On Monday, Nov. 23, the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) announced the City of Medicine Hat Electric Utility as winners of the 2020 CEA President’s Award of Excellence for Employee Safety at their annual Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

  • Invest Medicine Hat seeks to accelerate economic recovery with YXH Gateway

    Medicine Hat – Invest Medicine Hat is pleased to announce the newest commercial business district, YXH Gateway, located at the Medicine Hat Regional Airport. Recognizing the significant role airports play in economic development, the City enhanced the airport entrance with landscaping, sign installations, and other infrastructure upgrades prior to COVID-19, and is now promoting commercial and industrial real estate opportunities.

  • City of Medicine Hat Reaches Enhanced COVID Status

  • Update on Airport Operations

    Medicine Hat – The Medicine Hat Regional Airport continues to provide services for travelers while implementing protective measures to limit the possible transmission of COVID-19. WestJet has announced a revised flight schedule between Medicine Hat and Calgary, effective November 6.
