The package was introduced at the May 4 meeting of City Council and includes support for both residents and business owners.

  • City Advises Business Owners to Sustain Preventative Maintenance During COVID-19

    Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat reminds building owners and managers to maintain appropriate water levels in floor and sink drains to avoid sewer gas release into interior spaces. .

  • Airport Implementing Additional Changes for Travelers

    Medicine Hat – The Medicine Hat Regional Airport has implemented additional changes for travelers to limit the possible transmission of COVID-19. Hours of Operation at the Airport Terminal will be further adjusted to 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Sunday through Friday.

  • MH Transit Implementing Additional Measures for Passengers

    Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat is reminding residents to use Medicine Hat Transit for essential travel only, which includes getting groceries, attending medical appointments or going to and from work. “Physical distancing expectations remain in effect for passengers,” said Gordon Dykstra, Superintendent of Transit Operations.

  • Gas City Campground Closed for Month of May

    Medicine Hat – As the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic continue to evolve, the City of Medicine Hat is monitoring all aspects and restrictions closely and is making decisions in the best interest of the safety of our residents, visitors and staff. As a result, the Gas City Campground in Medicine Hat, AB will remain closed for the month of May.

  • City Announces Intent to Oversee Canalta Centre

    Medicine Hat – In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the dynamic economic challenges ahead, the City has chosen to not renew the contract with venue management firm ASM Global and commence oversight of the Canalta Centre. Current provincial and federal restrictions have limited the operational capabilities for the Canalta Centre venue, and the current outlook from Alberta Health and Canada Health authorities indicates that public restrictions can be expected for the remainder of 2020 in an effort to mitigate virus transmission.

  • City Opts to Restrict Access to all Outdoor Recreational Structures

    Medicine Hat – To further prevent the spread of COVID-19, the City of Medicine Hat has, until now, been advising residents to refrain from using outdoor play structures in both City parks and school playgrounds. Effective immediately, these spaces are closed to the public.
