    Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat is making changes to Medicine Hat Transit to support passengers and drivers as part of the City’s COVID-19 response. Effective immediately, fare payment is not required to use Transit services, including Regular and Special Transit.

  • City Reminds Residents to Allow City Workers Space to Work Safely

    Medicine Hat – During the COVID-19 pandemic, necessary City construction and infrastructure renewal and repair work still continues. Residents are reminded to allow crews space to work safely, and to adhere to physical distancing standards by staying at least two metres away from City workers.

  • Emergency Social Services Support Available for Local Organizations Impacted by COVID-19

    Medicine Hat – Emergency Social Services Support is now available through the local Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Grant Program. The Government of Alberta is providing $30 million to municipalities, charitable and non-profit organizations to help individuals, seniors, families and other vulnerable Albertans who are isolated or impacted by measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  • Economic Recovery Team Assembled

    Medicine Hat –The City of Medicine Hat continues to work with businesses who are experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19. Invest Medicine Hat and Invest Southeast Alberta (ISA) came together in 2018 to support businesses with the BREWD (Business Retention, Expansion and Workforce Development) initiative, engaging close to 500 businesses.

    Medicine Hat – The Medicine Hat Regional Airport continues to provide services for travelers while implementing protective measures to limit the possible transmission of COVID-19. .

  • City Recommends Residents Refrain from Visiting Public Playground Structures

    Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat supports Alberta Health Services’ (AHS) direction around physical distancing and, in cooperation with Cypress County, the Town of Redcliff, and the school boards in Medicine Hat and area, continue to work on implementing protective measures to limit the possible transmission of COVID-19. The City of Medicine Hat highly recommends residents refrain from visiting public playground structures at this time.

  • City Launches Information Line

    Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat will launch an information line for local residents on Tuesday. As part of the City’s COVID-19 response, the telephone service will provide information to residents and help connect them to community resources.

  • Family Leisure Centre Registration Day Postponed

    Medicine Hat – The March 24 registration day for summer programs at the Big Marble Go Centre, Crestwood Rec Centre and outdoor pools is postponed until further notice due to COVID-19. This decision was made to allow time for more clear instruction to emerge from Alberta Health Services during this challenging event.
